★★★★★ 1000+ 5 star Google Reviews
Choosing a financial adviser is a big decision, so we've done the groundwork for you. Every Brisbane adviser on this page has been assessed against our selection criteria: at least 10 years in the industry, recognised qualifications like the CFP® designation, industry awards and consistently strong client reviews.
Fees, minimum balances and specialties vary between practices, from retirement and super to investment and business owner advice, so it's worth comparing two or three before you book. Most offer a free first meeting. Our guides on financial planner costs and questions to ask your adviser will help you get the most out of it.
Listings are reviewed on a regular basis. Advisers that pay for a listing but must meet our criteria to be included.

Fees vary by practice and by how complex your situation is. Most Brisbane advisors on this list charge either a flat annual advice fee, an hourly rate for one-off advice, or (less commonly today) a percentage of the assets they manage for you. Some firms — such as Aspire Retire — deliberately charge flat dollar fees rather than percentage-based fees so costs aren't tied to your account balance. The best way to know your actual cost is to ask for a written quote during your first, no-obligation meeting, which most of the advisors listed here offer for free.
For a full breakdown of typical fee structures, see our guide: Financial Planner Costs in Australia.
Every advisor featured has at least 10 years' industry experience, holds an award or recognition from a professional body (such as the Financial Advice Association Australia, IFA Excellence Awards, or Barron's Top Advisers), and has a strong track record of positive client feedback. Many also hold the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) designation, the highest professional standard in the industry. You can read our full methodology on the How We Choose page.
In Australia the two titles are used interchangeably and both refer to a professional licensed to give personal financial advice. What matters more than the title is whether they hold a CFP® designation, how many years of experience they have, and whether their advice is tied to a particular institution's products or genuinely independent — all of which are noted in each advisor's profile above.
It depends on the advisor. Some Brisbane practices, particularly those focused on high-net-worth clients, set a minimum — for example, Sally Huynh at Shadforth Financial Group works with clients starting from $1 million in investable assets. Others, such as My Wealth Solutions and Aspire Retire, work with a broader range of clients regardless of asset size. Check the "Specialty Areas" and any stated minimums on each profile, or ask directly during your first call.
Independence varies by firm and is worth confirming directly. Some listed practices, like VISIS Private Wealth and Aspire Retire, are 100% privately owned with no institutional alliances. Others, like Hudson Financial Planning, hold their own Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) rather than operating under a larger institution's licence. If independence from product providers matters to you, ask an advisor upfront how they're licensed and whether they receive commissions.
The advisors on this page are based across Brisbane, including the CBD (4000), Newstead (4006), Woolloongabba (4102) and Milton (4064), and most work with clients from across greater Brisbane and beyond, either in person or via video consultation. Check each advisor's listed location for their exact office suburb.
At minimum, ask about their fee structure, whether they're paid commissions on any products they recommend, their qualifications (CFP® is the industry benchmark), how many years they've practised, and how often you'll meet once you're a client. We've put together a full list in our guide, Questions to Ask Your Financial Advisor.
